The rolling out of the Pie update for the mid-range Sony Xperia XA2 started two months ago, back in February. However, Sony made the decision to suspend the update for a bit at that particular time, since the company was bricking the Russian version of the phone. However, now, Sony has indeed resumed the update for the phone.
The old update – having the version number 50.2.A.0.342 would actually lead to the phone restarting and then displaying black and white stripes on the screen afterwards, and this, like you’d imagine, made the phone pretty much unusable. The latest update has resolved the issue though, and is now safe for installation.
The version number for the latest update is 50.2.A.0.352 – and this latest update brings about the March 2019’s security patch too. The update is also said to be rolling out in other regions as well. So now would represent a decent enough time for you to check your phone for the update.
