The Android One program has gained quite some popularity, with Xiaomi being one of the biggest factors in such a turn of events over the past few months. The Chinese brand happens to be one of the most – if not the most prominent OEM supporting the Android One program, with the most recent memory being the deliverance of the Mi A2 series. With regards to the previous series released not so long ago, there was all the expectation in the world that Xiaomi will indeed offer successors this year, and now, by the looks of it, we have some details as to what we can expect from the Chinese brand.
XDA developers has gone on to discover that Xiaomi is testing out three new phones – code-named pyxis, bamboo_sprout, and finally, cosmos_sprout. XDA developers has also noted that it is perfectly normal for OEMs to give the “sprout” suffix to phones based on Android One.
There is also speculation present over the fact that the third device amongst the three being present in the rumors : pyxis– is actually a Chinese variant one of the Android One devices. Both the Mi 5X and the Mi 6X were released in China a little while ago, and both the phones ended up being known as the Mi A1 and the Mi A2 respectively, as they received the Android One makeover.

XDA developers have also noted that all three phones which are being tested will indeed feature with the In-display fingerprint scanner, so that all the three phones will offer the quite trendy authentication option. XDA has also stated that it is quite likely that these devices will feature with 32MP selfie camera too, with the cameras set to feature with Pixel-binning functionality.
Other then these minor details, there isn’t much other detail over the upcoming phones. It is likely though that we’re looking at the Mi A3 series – or whatever Xiaomi decided to call the Mi A2 successors. And so with that in mind, we can also expect the mid-range processing capabilities rather than the more flagship level internal capabilities like the Snapdragon 855.
