The latest version of Google’s Android software has been out for quite some months now, and companies are finally setting out the dates in which their phones are set for the latest update of Pie and I’m happy to see Xiaomi following the same suite, as the company has revealed the list of phones that are set to receive the update in some capacity in Q4 2018.
Along the lines of a table of devices posted on its Chinese-language forum, Xiaomi has revealed what devices are set for either the Pie update, or even the Oreo update.
The table reveals that the Redmi 5, Redmi 5A, Redmi 5 Plus, and the Mi 5X are all set to receive an update – however, this update will be limited only to Oreo, which in all truths, is quite disappointing. Many were expecting these phones to get the pie update, and this makes the situation all the more disappointing, however, we can hope that the company skips Pie, when Android Q is launched.

On the other hand, the devices which are set for a Pie based update in this quarter range from the likes of the Mi 8 screen fingerprint edition, MI 8 SE, and also the Mi Max 3.
The table posted by Xiaomi has also made a suggestion that the Mi 5S’s oreo update has been suspended – however, the reason for this situation is unknown till now, though we might get some news on the matter soon. The forum has also gone on to warn and caution people that old devices which have already received two update are actually unlikely to receive another one of the updates.
