News coming from Xiaomi Thai based Facebook page states that the Chinese manufacturer is ready to launch Xiaomi’s latest new phone : the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro. The official announcement finally put an end to the rumors, as it took the wraps off the upcoming phone’s four cameras – two of which are on the front, and the rest on the back.
The successor to the Redmi Note 5 Pro features a 20MP + 2MP setup on the front of the phone, while the back is focused around a 12MP+5MP pairing of cameras. The two dual camera setups make the phone Xiaomi’s first ever to feature four cameras all round, though it isn’t the first phone to be of the particular nature, as Huawei won that race, when the Mate 20 Lite was released.
It’s been something of a trend, and has become customary in recent times, as Xiaomi boasts plenty of buzzwords for the phone’s cameras. Things such as “AI Dynamic Bokeh effect ,” coming along with the AI-assisted scene recognition, leave a lot to the imagination, as Xiaomi tries its best to take advantage of the four cameras in quite a few ways.

Though it has to be said, apart from the camera setup, there isn’t actually much that separates the latest phone from its predecessor. The latest phone features the same Snapdragon 636 processor that we saw in the Redmi Note 5 Pro, and the newest phone comes with 4 gigs of RAM, and 64 gigs of external storage, with the option of expandable storage still present. It just might be possible that Xiaomi releases another version which just might not only have more RAM, but also a greater amount of external storage. Why do I think so? Well, history has the backing of such a statement, because the Redmi Note 5 Pro too came with a variant having a greater amount of RAM.
Not only is the processor the same, but the displays are similar as well, excluding one difference, which in all truths, is quite huge. The Note 5 Pro featured an 18:9 display without any sign of the notch, however, the Note 6 Pro’s 6.26-inch display does happen to feature a notch, while the aspect ratio too goes up to a 19:9 ratio. The notch does indeed allow the phone to feature a slightly higher 2280 X 1080 display resolution. However, seeing as to how the Note 5 Pro’s display too is full HD+ (2160 X 1080), these added pixels that I’ve just talked about would be barely noticeable.
The phone is available in Thailand for $216, and the color options range from the likes of black, to the likes of blue and rose gold. Though the phone has made its way into the Thai market, it hasn’t been announced for any other market just yet, however, it shouldn’t take too long a time before the phone features in other markets as well.
