A new camera sample has recently been unveiled by the founder of Xiaomi – Lei Jun; and this makes the suggestion that the phone should have absolutely no problems with low light photos. The camera sample shoes off the phone’s night mode, and hence it can be taken as the best example for whether or not the quality of low light photos taken by the camera is good or not. The photo is of the Beijing national stadium, and it has the possession of bright, diverse colors, along with plenty of detail to go along with everything.
Pretty much every one is impressed with the phone due to the snap it took, and it without doubt had some great qualities – in particular, the color reproduction in the reflection and the details within the stadium itself.
Of course, however, there are always two sides of a pictures, and it is possible in this case, as well. It is possible that Xiaomi could’ve used an elaborate lighting setup, a tripod, and photoshop to produce this final image that they have shown to the public. Due to such reasons, it can be very hard to interpret too much about the photos produced, and hence there might be a doubt about the overall performance of not only this snap, but also the camera all together. However, like I said before, such a case is possible, not probable, and we might be giving Xiaomi some stick that the company doesn’t actually deserve.

Low-light photography, along with the number of cameras added to the setup on particular smartphones has actually become an extremely important Battleground for smartphone cameras recently, so, if this snap by Xiaomi is anything to go by, (barring in mind the authenticity of it all), then it looks as if the Chinese brand has the bragging rights.
In addition to Xiaomi’s efforts, let’s not forget Google’s efforts, either. The company’s night sight feature promises some major improvements in low light photography, and there is quite the potential when it comes to Google’s cameras. Not only this, but the Huawei P20 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy s9 also already have very impressive low light photography modes, as good as any available on the market, actually.
