Well, Xiaomi has been quick on its word when it comes to launching phones since it has just been a few days since Xiaomi introduced the new mobile division by the name CC, standing for a lot of adjectives related to the current youth as colourful and creative and whatnot. Xiaomi has now announced the first series of phone under the new brand name in collaboration with Meitu.
The phones are much of the same that you would expect from Xiaomi with a little bit of added punch in terms of the designs of the phone. The phones consist of Xiaomi MI CC 9, MI CC9e and the MI CC 9 Meitu edition. All three phones have weird long names which makes it difficult for one to pronounce them but nevertheless they are promising phones and we are here to take a look at what the Xiaomi’s future looks like.
All three phones have 32MP selfie camera in a waterdrop notch, a 4030MAH battery, and a rear camera setup of 3, with a 48MP, 8MP for ultra wide and 2MP for depth sensing. This has been the standard of smartphone photography in 2019 and as much as the high number of pixels attract buyers, it hasn’t been the best of photography and is just another example of how pixels don’t matter.

Starting with the centre of the bunch, the MI CC 9 has a snapdragon 710 with 6GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. The phone has a Full HD+ 6.39 inch OLED panel with an in display fingerprint sensor and 18 watt charging. The headphone jack is retained and the USB C port is a sigh of relief.
Next up is the MI CC 9e. This is the smaller of the new series with a snapdragon 665, 6 inch OLED panel with in display fingerprint sensor, however NFC has been excluded.
The final is a rather weird inclusion with the difference between the meitu edition and the MI CC 9 being an app that Meitu tailor made for the phone that enhances photos and are comparable to those of the IPHONE XS.
The phones start from $262 for the MI CC 9 for the 64GB and $291 for the 128GB model. The 9e starts at $189 for the 64GB and upto 6GB and 128GB for $233. The Meitu edition is the one with the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage at $378.
