So after establishing a great brand image in the world of smartphone technology and establishing a competitive stance in that market, the major Chinese OEM, Xiaomi are looking to provide an increasing preassure in the TV market as well and are coming up with some pretty amazing TV’s along the way. The company have launched one of its highest-end lineup of smart TVs which the company has dubbed as the Mi TV 5 Pro. The premium Mi TV series was unveiled in Beijing, China in three different sizes – 55, 65, and 75 inches.
All of the a fore mentioned variants of the TV have 8K Quantum Dot LED (QLED) displays which carry support for HDR10+ content and 108% of the NTSC color gamut. The new TV’s will also be able to support 8k video decoding, motion smoothing technology through MEMC, Dolby Audio, and DTS HD Sound. The TV runs on Xiaomi’s custom PatchWall user interface.

The TV will also be featuring a screw-less design which is made entirely of aluminum. The frame is only 5.9 mm thick which makes this particular TV thinner than an iPhone 11 which has a size of only 8.1 millimeters,truly astonishing and it is almost unbelievable, but seeing as how technology is progressing in recent times, nothing seems impossible. Moreover, the bezels have been improved over its predecessor, which are now 47.1% narrower over the Mi TV 4.
Hardware-wise, the Mi TV 5 Pro is powered by the 12nm Amlogic T972 chipset, which Xiaomi promises is 63% faster than the previous generation CPU. The TV has a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.Premium specifications translate into a premium price tag as well. The 55-inch model costs $537, the 65-inch variant is priced at $713, and the 75-inch edition goes for $1425. It is a newly introduced lineup so it is only available in China for now, but will expand to the international market soon.
