Pakistan’s Polio Eradication Programme established around-the-clock Polio whatsapp helpline’ service on Tuesday.The purpose of the new service is to help the citizens who face problems from this disease. Moreover,as per the information provided to us by an official of the National Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), he says that people now have the capability of approaching the helpline directly to gain information regarding their polio related issues and on top of that they can also make complaints, suggestions or share with the personnel any relevant information. According to the official, citizens now possess the ability to make contact with The Polio Eradication team by simply sending a text message or whatsapp message to the helpline number 03467776546.
He further also assured that quick service will be provided and that any necessary action will be taken depending on the seriousness of the complaint. He also asked the citizens to play their decisive role in making Pakistan a polio-free in the globe and has expressed his interest in making this possible. He also stated that the government has a firm objective to defeat polio-virus transmission in the country and they plan to that through the optimum utilization of this low transmission season.

Moreover, he also added that the whole team of the Pakistan Polio Eradication programme have set there eyes on the objective of wiping out this disease in Pakistan and that they will do whatever it takes to achieve that objective. Furthermore , he also talked about the importance that parents should be committed to protect their children from the virus through repeated vaccinations each time the representatives of the campaign come to provide the service. “This is a good opportunity to stem virus circulation and develop children’s immunity enough to fight against the attacks of polio-virus.”
The representative also said that polio is a highly infectious disease caused by polio-virus and that this virus directly attacks children who are under the age of five. He added that this disease is linked with the nervous system, and can cause paralysis which may lead to death if the virus gains full ground in the nerves of the human body. He said that there is no cure for polio and the vaccination is the most effective way to protect children from this very serious disease.
