Wedding Halls Receive Another Notice From FBR

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has filed another raise in about 5 percent for all of the wedding and gathering places. The tax is applied in relation with the Section 236D of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001.

FBR has notified that,

“Every prescribed person shall collect advance tax at the rate of five percent on the total amount of the bill”.

Places that will suffer tax are:

  • Club
  • Commercial lawn
  • Hotel
  • Restaurant
  • Any community place
  • Marquee
  • Marriage hall
  • Any other place used for the purpose of holding any events.

Other events are:

  • Concert
  • Exhibition
  • Party
  • Seminar
  • Wedding
  • Workshop
  • Any other gathering at any of the above mentioned places.

Earlier it was stated by the government that this is the last time the restaurants and other places are being charged up with tax, but now it seems like they don’t charge their words.
