WattUp is the new future of truly wireless charging which Can Charge Phones from 3 Feet Away. With advent in technology, wireless charging has been broadly used for quite some years now and is considered quite handy. A part from the fact that it still has the significant need to have physical contact with the device, which indicates that wireless charging has never really been actually wireless. Well. Now that’s all going to change.
Recently, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has accepted and approved the world’s first totally wireless charging standard.
A device named by “WattUp” which is actually a midfield transmitter has benn created by a Startup Energous. WattUp is cable to charge devices from a distance of at least 3 feet.

In the demo video they showed that device is talented enough for 15 feet of charging range however that version has not yet been approved.
Working mechanism of WattUp
The working rule of WattUp is to convert electricity into radio frequency waves, which are then beamed to devices at a space equipped with a related receiver.
Months ago, Pi wireless charging which was announced for contactless charging, applied resonance induction methods to direct a beam at a device that is next to the charging pad as a substitute of getting in contact with it. Though, it still could not make possible true wireless charging.
On the other hand, this new radio frequency method applied by WattUp is considered to be safe and sound for a human, that’s why it got certification from the FCC.
Multiple Charging at the same time
Apart from wireless charging, The WattUp charger got an amazing feature that it can power up many devices at the same time, and excitingly, these contain not only mobile phones and tablets but fitness bands, gaming consoles, keyboards and other electronic tools.
The startup Energous does not have any retail-ready device as yet — however it has announced that it will put on show the WattUp at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 January 9 to 12 which will be held in Las Vegas, USA.
For some reasons you may think that 3 feet is not a large distance, however it surely is a satisfying and reasonable start for a good initiative.
