Pakistan cricket great Wasim Akram and his Australian wife Shaneira Akram have been married for the past six years now. They have set the standards high for other couples who aim for a romantic marriage. Not only is their romance never ending, but so is their commitment to one another. Celebrating their anniversary on the 14th of August which also happens to be the day on which Pakistan gained independence – which is perhaps fitting with respect to how much Wasim Akram has contributed to the game of cricket for his country – and from a global perspective too.
Not that it was required, but the couple showcased their admiration for one another – celebrating their love via posts online. Not only did they celebrate their love, but they also celebrated Pakistan’s 72 year existence as a nation – ever flourishing as a country.

Sharing pictures with her husband, Shaneira said : “Nothing makes me prouder than sharing our 6th wedding anniversary with Pakistan on such a significant day. 6 year ago we made a commitment to each other with promises of love, unity, kindness, growth and prosperity the same mantra we believe in for Pakistan.”
She continued by saying : “And I hope Wasim and I stay unified as strong, just like our country we live in today. Happy anniversary @wasimakramliveofficialI hope we have many many more InshAllah.”
In his response to all the statements made by his beloved wife, Wasim added just a touch of humor as well as showing admiration and love for his other half – just like she did for him. She wrote on Twitter : “The day we celebrate Pakistan’s independence happens to be the same day that I lost mine. Happy Anniversary to @iamShanieramy life means nothing without you in it!”
