Since 2016, Posters have been capable to share images and gifts, at the same time text and links.
“Content creators had to go all the way through a prolonged, meandering procedure to post videos, by means of third-party hosting platforms, copying URLs, and sharing them as link posts before this launch,” stated by the firm in a blog.
“This inhibited a lot of users, particularly for those who quickly want to share moments after capturing videos on their phones with their favorite subreddits.”
The latest system “streamlined” the progression, it added.
Emon Motamedi, product manager of Reddit pass a statement in an interview with tech news website The Verge “rather than clicking links to videos posted on other sites and then coming back to comment. Furthermore, it kept people engage on the platform.

On the other hand, the site has yet to verify particularly that this is what it will do.
“Video is considered and ranked as a more premium content type,” said Charlotte Palfrey, senior analyst with Ovum.
Reddit posted earlier videos about a golfer seeking tips on his swing, a man asking over for the suggestion on his next haircut, and cute videos of pets.
Policing problems
Though, facilitating video uploads may indicate the platform will have to the treaty with the similar policing issues faced by other social networks counting Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
“It will create a nuisance for moderators, but moderators can choose to go far of having a video on their boards,” stated Charlotte Palfrey.
“Moderators need to be very cautious to shun copyright infringement and content not appropriate for family spectators.”
According to the firm, the feature will be just available in some communities and will not be rolled out transversely the whole site.
