As iPhones sales continue to be in decline, it seems that Apple will do everything in its power to make sure that things don’t stay the way they are. Indeed, the rumors related to 2020 iPhones make it seem as if Apple is looking to take things up a notch. The latest rumors surrounding the iPhones that are set to come next year say that not only will all the iPhones have 5G connectivity, but there will also be a 3D camera system to talk about.
This year’s iPhones are just a month away. And while the rumors regarding this year’s devices are up there, it seems that a more interesting subject is what next year’s phones will have – the tide seems to have shifted to what’s in store in the future.
One rumor in particular that keep on floating is that next year’s iPhones will feature with a rear-facing 3D camera system. An apple analyst recently also said that he expects two of the 2020 iPhones models to feature with a new time-of-flight camera lens placed at the back. The setup does draw some similarities to the current True Depth camera system which is used for face ID, however, it would actually be a bit different – as the type of technology talked about here could allow it to 3D map objects from farther away. Not only would such technology go a long away in improving its augmented reality applications, but it would also take different camera features such as Potrait Mode to the next level. While previously rumors did indicate that the iPhones would feature with such a setup, however, it wasn’t actually mentioned as to how many models of Apple’s flagship devices would entertain the technology.

As far as this year’s iPhones go, both the iPhone 11 as well as the iPhone 11 Max are expected to feature with a triple camera setup on the back – which would also include a new ultrawide-angle lens. While the more cheaper of the three iPhone models set to be announced next month may feature with an ultrawide-angle lens, it will not include the telephoto lens which will be placed in its higher-end siblings.
The analyst has also come to the conclusion that all three of the 2020 iPhone models will feature with 5G connectivity. As of right now, it is unclear whether Apple will adopt a strategy where the manufacturer would introduce a fourth non-5G alternative at a more cheaper price.
