Twitter over the years have tried its very best to get a hold of all the fake accounts currently found on the view-sharing platform as there have been multiple purges in the past few months. As of last July many high-profile accounts saw their follower numbers fall by a significant number as Twitter started to remove accounts that had already been locked for suspicious reasons which may or may not result in the outrage of many people. But since then many of the accounts were reported to have been unlocked. Furthermore twitter came out to state that “we have discovered bugs whereby some of these accounts were added back which led to misleading follower counts”.

Furthermore when this case was researched by a Ad Fraud Research company it was revealed that some popular users had somewhat gained back about one-third of their lost followers but apparently come Friday these accounts disappeared once again for unknown reasons. Moreover these companies aren’t the only ones who noticed this glitch or whatever you want to call it. Elon Musk a famous scientist and inventor recently tweeted about his loss of followers by stating on twitter that “ I think Twitter is deleting fake, scam or maybe even inactive accounts. My follower count has dropped by 20,000 over the past few days”
It is highly unlikely that Elon Musk had purchased any fake followers but this will seem to be alarming for those who have been involved in the carrying out of any such task with Twitter really serious in their policy against any such trouble-makers. Finally these people will just have to get used to their smaller number of followers in the future considering that it is illegal or at least un ethical to carry out any such activity even if it is being carried out on a social-media platform. Lets see how happens!
