As we all know, businesses all over the globe are in deep waters at the moment and are struggling to make decisions in regards with the operations in the post-pandemic world, Twitter have in turn announced that there employees shall now be allowed to work from home in perpetuity. This will hold even after the pandemic ends, making the work lives of these workers a treat, till they are a part of this network. Twitter CEO has allowed employees to work from home permanently.
It is worth noting that before this, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey told Buzzfeed News that the organization would stick with work-from-home at least till September, to make sure that there employees are safe. However, on Tuesday, a Twitter spokesperson told the media that “Opening offices will be our decision. When and if our employees come back, will be theirs. We were uniquely positioned to respond quickly and allow folks to work from home given our emphasis on decentralization and supporting a distributed workforce capable of working from anywhere”.

As far as the year 2021 is concerned, the major social media platform would assess there plans later in the year. The spokesperson stated in that regard that, “The past few months have proven we can make that work. So, if our employees are in a role and situation that enables them to work from home and they want to continue to do so forever, we will make that happen. If not, our offices will be their warm and welcoming selves, with some additional precautions, when we feel it’s safe to return.”
Other technology companies and social media platforms such as the likes of Facebook, Google, and Microsoft are currently devising ways in which opening their offices would be the right decision or not. Google have already announced that a vast majority these companies shall work from home until 2021, although some essential employees shall return to work early in the summer to continue the operations of the company. Similar to that, Facebook shall reopen there offices after 4th July for essential employees but will shall let others work from home at least the next year or until the situation is completely secure.
