Sweden based Truecaller app will now let you scan numbers.
The Truelcaller android update 8.45 will allow users to make fast track calls and scan numbers off almost any surface.
In a statement released by Truecaller, you could scan numbers off business cards, websites, street signs, shop fronts or any other place. This will cut down the need for one to manually jot down a number.
When you point your phone camera to the number you intend to save—the app can pick up printed, signage and handwritten numbers—and dial it for you.
The app will also enable the users to make payments through the money through Truecaller pay. All money transactions can be made by Unified Payment Interference in case you don’t have BHIM. You can send or request money and also send flash messages to the contacts in your phone book. It will also save “Bank Balance Check” for offline use.
This April Truecaller CSO and Co-Founder Nami Zarringhalam told PTI that at this stage, the offline services are an Airtel exclusive offer and “available only in India”.
The second feature—Fast track number—allows you make one tap calls to emergency services. The fast track function luckily does not need an internet connection. This makes sense because if you are going to integrate an emergency call service in your app it should be able to fair out odds like wifi connectivity.
Fast track will enable users to make one tap calls to emergency services like the police fire, medical help. Women services and as well as other essential categories to provide accessibility without an internet connection.
“During critical moments, you can reach out to the right company, person or service with a single tap with Fast track numbers,” said Narayan Babu, Director, Product, and Engineering, Truecaller, in a statement.
Last month, the company integrated with video calling app Google Duo to allow users to make video calls directly through the Truecaller app.
