Sony’s latest flagship that is set to arrive soon will be the Xperia 5. The announcement with regards to the phone was made by Sony just last week at the IFA 2019 that was held in Berlin.
Just yesterday though, Sony announced that it plans to unveil the device at an event which will take place on the 24th of December September in Shanghai. This is the same date on which the Xiaomi Mi MIX ALPHA/Mi MIX 4 is rumored to be announced.
As per schedule, the event is set to begin at 9:30 AM local Chinese time and will run till 12 noon. The poster that is linked to the upcoming device showed that it will be available in four colors : blue, black, grey and finally – red.
The device will arrive with a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display. It will come with a 21:9 Cinema Wide display – this is what Sony calls it. Under the hood of the device is present the Snapdragon 855 processor, while the device is protected by the Gorilla Glass 6 covered on the back. The device will come with six gigs of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, while on the battery front – it will feature with a 3140mAh unit.
It possess a triple camera setup on the rear – consisting of a 12MP f/1.6 sensor with Hybrid OIS/EIS video stabilization, a 12MP f/2.4 telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom and 5-axis OIS and finally, a 12MP ultra wide camera with hybrid OIS/EIS.As far as the selfie camera is concerned : it is an 8MP sensor. Much to the credit of Sony, the company took upon itself to pre-load the phone with a wide range of professional camera features for both the recording of videos as well as taking snaps.
The phone will come with stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, an IP65/68 rating, NFC, while the side of the smartphone will be occupied by a mounted fingerprint scanner. It will support 18W fast charging, while it will run Android Pie.
While Sony did not reveal the price for the phone at IFA 2019,we won’t be in the dark for too long as the price will soon be revealed when the device launches in China.
