Amid Indian Protests against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in India, the situation is miserable for students across India, and not only for Muslims, but students and people belonging from any sect and religion, but opposing the government move.
In the backdrop of racism, filled with state violence against protesting armless students chanting slogans and reciting poetry against state atrocities, the ragged government unleashed force in the form of Police and extremist RSS and BJP affiliated mobs and goons against students.
Now, after a month, the voices that were buried deep under the ashes of neutrality, are now rising.
However, in the wake of all that is happening across India, the voices that influence the most and masses are silent, the mouths, which could be the reason to influence and promote subjectivity of the minds are shut.
The Bollywood Khans, which include big names of Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Amir Khan have a collective power to influence not millions about billions. There is not even a word from either of them or comment on the most crucial matters of the country.

Shahrukh Khan, the Bollywood King, did not even make a nod when his alma mater Jamia Millia Islamia was attacked, injuring several students.
What went wrong with them? the people, and now even media is curious. There are different facts and theories making rounds on different forums. Shahrukh in particular was once vocal about the issue of racism and Islamophobia and even made a film ‘My name is Khan’ about the issue.
Director Anubhav Sinha came up with the argument, defending Shahrukh Khan’s silence about the issue. He tweeted in which he said, “Do you remember five years back two superstars of India used a word that they were condemned for and NO ONE stood up for them? NO ONE. The stars were Shah Rukh and Aamir. The word was INTOLERANCE and they were so damn right……,”
Shahrukh Khan came under heavy fire when he indicated growing “intolerance” in India. Arguably, this does not justify the current silence when whole India is burning and the government is pushing hard to drag the country to the brink of fascism.
However, now that CAA is enacted, the bill that would objectify two hundred millions Muslims in India becomes the reason for everyone to stand up against the BJP. Various actors, including Deepika Padukone, are raising their voice and expressing their feelings about the matter. The mirror of tolerant, secular and progressive India is searching for Khans of Bollywood, but they are nowhere to be found.
