The J-series to be replaced by the A-series Confirmed by Samsung

The Chinese manufacturers have adopted a market strategy of having sub-brands, however, other companies, like for instance, Samsung, have stuck to having multiple series, and this can at times be quite confusing. The Korean giant has indeed been piling up the names for different series, however, it is also true that the Korean giant has been doing some cleaning up.

The original lineup of Samsung consisted of the Galaxy S, Galaxy Note, Galaxy A, Galaxy J, Galaxy C, and finally, the Galaxy On series – with the last two series listed being region-specific series and an online-only series.

Last year saw Samsung canceling both the Galaxy On and the Galaxy C series, and this year saw the company launching the Galaxy M series. And just yesterday, Samsung also revealed that the Galaxy J series will be no more, with the series being replaced by the Galaxy A series.

Originally, the Galaxy A series was meant to be sort of an upper mid range series for Samsung, however, it did not actually turn out like that for the company, as the series could not resist the competition when considering both the specs and value for money for the phones involved within the series.

Now, with the latest decision from Samsung in mind, the Galaxy A series will no longer be limited just to upper mid-range devices which happened to cost a lot more than the competition, but the series will also consist of more affordable models which will include the likes of the Galaxy A10, A20, A20e, as well as the A30. Also, there is an upcoming phone from the A-series – the Galaxy A2 Core, and this happens to be an Android Go phone. The more premium models coming from the series are the Galaxy A50, A70, and the Galaxy A90 – while these models should be joined by the Galaxy A60 and the Galaxy A80 in the future.
