In accordance to what XDA Developers have had to say, the Play Store looks set to introduce an incognito mode for the case of private downloads, while it will now also remind the users to revoke the previously allowed side loading permissions from other apps. The fears over privacy are growing day by day, and with this in mind, Google’s agenda to introduce these two new features is only likely to make the Play Store a more privacy-focused entity.
With the Play Store’s incognito mode, users will have the opportunity to browse as well as download apps without any of their data being collected. And while it isn’t crystal clear as to what information is to be kept from the Play Store – these new security measures are only likely to be a good thing.

Regardless however, users have a wide range of options when it comes to downloading apps on their Android devices. These options range from the likes of using a third-party app store like F-Droid, or the Amazon Appstore, to the likes of downloading and installing APKs directly from a mobile browser.
In Android 8 and previous versions of Android, users had the opportunity to universally download APKs from outside the Play Store. There came a change in Android 9 when Google required users to enable this for each and every individual application. And now, with the latest reported security measures, users will be reminded afterwards to revoke these permissions. This represent a huge improvement as it would protect users via preventing third-party apps from secretly downloading malicious software.
As of now, it isn’t confirmed when these new security features are to arrive, however, it is only reasonable to suggest that they will arrive sooner rather than later.
