A Telugu character that crashes the iPhone costing the users of iPhone data, gets fixed by iOS 11.3. On Thursday, it was so stunning to hear that a costly device like iPhone by Apple could have a bug to crash one’s iPhone and cost one all his data. Yes, such a news to me was as silly as deadly.
It is the hell of silliness that a single message containing an Indian character can crash your iPhone. Yes, that is not something unheard of, as such kind of bugs are discovered on a constant basis.
Apple does always fix its bugs using iOS updates, and now the company has confirmed that a fix for the very Telugu bug, as it is referred to, would be available to iPhone owners even before iOS 11.3 does roll out.
The character supporting bug comes from the Telugu language, which is spoken by some seventy million people in India.

When the very Telugu character is sent over chat apps including iMessage, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, or email apps, the bug contained with the character can crash that particular app.
If you are facing this problem and want to fix the problem yourself, you have to somehow get into the app that crash & remove the message with the Telugu character.
Wait a minute! You can only do so from another device though, and only in case that device you are going to use does not run iOS.
The character can also crash the entire iPhone if the symbol appears in a notification card or banner. It forces you to restart the phone.
Apple says that iOS 11.3 fixes the problems. However, that is a major release intended to bring over several of the new features, including new battery health menu that lets us stop iPhone throttling. As such, the update would not be released until this spring — though you can install developer & public beta versions to try it out.
Apple says it will release an intermediary update, which is a minor release that could take form as iOS 11.2.6 or something similar to that, to patch this particular bug. According to the Verge, betas for other Apple operating systems, including macOS, tvOS, & watchOS, all fix the problem.
