It seems like Apple is always pretty much on the news. Whether it’s announcing that the company just became a trillion dollar industry or something as simple as announcing new products, such as mobile phones etc – it just seems like the company won’t stop making the headlines. And now, the company has yet again made the headlines, but for all the wrong reasons.
An Australian teenager, 16 was able to gain access to Apple’s private data, after he hacking into their servers. Now at times some teenagers or even other people hack into servers just for the fun of it, however this wasn’t at all the case with this teenager, as he was able to retrieve a huge amount of personal data from Apple servers – 90GB of data to be exact. The Age, an Australian paper took note of this, and reported it.
This was quite a planned process undertaken by the teenager. The teen, who could not be named for legal purposes, managed to break through Apple’s security to access the company’s internal file systems, and this was not an easy task, as the complexity of the plan meant that the teen had to do this over the course of an entire year. What information he gained from the servers is unclear and is not yet disclosed.
After the teen managed to bypass the security measures laid down by the company, he progressed to tunnel in and download a multitude of information regarding the company. Apple, at first was not aware of such proceedings, however, managed to catch on, and identified that there was something wrong. The teen’s access was then immediately blocked off, and Apple soon followed by alerting the FBI. The teen pleaded guilty to the charges bestowed upon him, and it won’t be till next month till he is sentenced.

Two of his computers were seized last year by the police, and they found multiple files which contained information on exactly how he managed to access the servers. And in a turn of events, it’s stated that the boy is actually a massive fan of Apple, and dreamt of working at the company one day.
Although it is true that the teenager may be facing serious criminal charges for the actions he carried out, he remains amongst the few people outside of Apple who might and probably does know exactly what the company might or might not be working on, and exactly what the future holds for the company.
