So the TCL C6 is the latest in line of the 2018 line up introduced by the mega company – TCL. The company has established itself as one of the leading market shareholders in the Television industry and has established an amazing reputation of their company by launching new, innovative and amazingly designed Televisions. Their devices have really interested consumers all over the world and well they have just launched an amazing Android TV. The device is named as the TCL C6 Television. So without further due let us dig in to what the new device has to offer.
So basically the C6 device of the company TCL is a 4K Ultra HD television device which comes with a HDR system built in to the TVand comes along with a built in Harman Kardonsound bar. Moreover the C6 comes in three variants, a 49” variant, a 55” inch variant and finally a 65” option for consumers but in our case we will be focusing on the 55” version of the TV.
So the TV comes along with a standard candy bar TV remote however TCL does give you the option of purchasing a smart remote with a feature of gesture navigation and more importantly you are able to make voice input through a built in microphone in that remote. Moreover the TV comes with loads of features, to start with the TV has a built-in chrome cast feature and also has a dual-band Wifi connection and in addition to that the device can also be connected to the internet via a LAN/Ethernet connection. There is also an option for connecting to your TV through Bluetooth and moreover there are various HDMI ports for that purpose as well. HDMI 2.0 x 2 and HDMI 1.4a x 1 and the TV can also support a HDCP 2.2 which adds dynamism in the TV in terms of the connectivity. In addition to the HDMI ports you also have the option of USB transmission and there is also an Headphone output built in to the TV. There is another feature added in the TV which is called the Audio Return Channel x1 (ARC).
DESIGN:
TCL has been following the same design language for quite some time now, but that doesn’t mean that the design is redundant or boring, in fact it oozes class. The minimalist design with straight corners gives it a sturdy look without any curves. The metallic chassis promises to outlast its competition. All in all, TCL has done an amazing job at preventing the TV from looking gaudy and making it more likeable instead.
DISPLAY:
TCL didn’t cut any corners when it comes to the display quality. In the presence of HDR 10 and TCL’s Micro-Dimming ability, the visual engine has been a masterpiece. Dark and light tones both look absolutely stunning on the C6. For darker themes, the device has a good contrast ratio with the material
maturing well in the dark background, however, there were cases where the background had pixelated results. At this price, getting a 4K TV which such a convincing display is one hard feat to achieve and its safe to say that TCL has nailed this department. It also features wider-viewing angles than previous models, which makes it easily the centerpiece of a living room for when guests come. The device has a very close to perfect display with the brightness and saturation levels on point! It sure is an eye-pleaser!

Audio and Visual Performance
So in terms of the Video performance the TV has done wonders in terms of the quality the panel provides. The TV is a 4K full HD TV, and well the quality of the picture proves that feature. Everything is crisp and clear, the TV comes with amazing colors and the detail is just breath taking and moreover the HDR feature that comes along with the 4K resolution has made the picture quality even better than a 4K oriented TV device. After streaming some native 4K samples through YouTube we got the taste of what the new TV has to offer in terms of Video quality and we are sure that the new device promises to impress. The new 4K HDR content has made us all want to upgrade to the new device and well the C6 has revolutionized TV technology as we know it, the C6 is simply amazing.
Moving on in terms of the Audio of the device, the Harman Kardon speakers did not add much dynamism as one would expect, when compared with the sound quality of Dolby Atmos 5.1 digital setup there wasn’t much difference between the two sound bars. But yes there was a little bit of a difference with the Subwoofer jacked up a little and there was noticeable difference in the low end, and the surround effects were much better than that if the Dolby. Moreover, if you are not much of a sound freak then I think you can do well by the built in sound bar of the C6 as they provide an overall good experience to the user and well we can say that you may not require to buy any external sound speakers to go with your device as speakers of the device do a fairly good job in terms of the sound. The overall experience of the C6 sound was pretty good.
Trouble-free Android Experience
So the TV supports the Android concept, and comes with various applications, so in terms of the various famous applications such as Netflix, YouTube, STAN and KODI and even Plex, these apps tend to work well and we are really impressed with the “lean back” experience which is provided in the experience of the TV. The casting option also works relatively well in the TV and well for people who like to Cast their device with the TV, they will not have any problems with that feature. All in all what is being provided in the TV in terms of the Android apps, tends to work efficiently, and users will not have any such problems in that regard. Now with only a limited selection of apps available for the consumer its surprising that there aren’t features which support voice search interaction, which always seems to be a problem for apps which are not on android devices. There some apps which the users may feel are missing but that all depends on the region you are currently in and well overall we think that someday Google will update their OS in TELEVISIONS and hence we will see a lot of more options available for TV apps, well in the future.
Performance
Ok the audio-visual acumen of the C6 is fantastic, Android TV is what it is so how does this excellent sound and light package run Android TV? From our experience in the Android TV space there are 2 categories; NVIDIA Shield and everything else and we think that needs to be acknowledged up front as a very good feature coming along in the TV.The TV comes at 1/3 of the price of a full TV and the overall experience on the NVIDIA Shield is mesmerizingnow what we think is the only thing it’s missing is a coaxial input for broadcast TV and reliable Bluetooth – which is itself an oxymoron. So it would be better to remove the NVIDIA shield from the possible outcomes when trying to make other Android TV devices compatible with the TV
Moreover, the C6 is running the Android 7.0 which is built in to the TV and there is an option of an upgrade possibly to Android 8.0 Oreo expected in the near future. In terms of the hardware the device comes loaded with a Quad Core 64bit 1.1Ghz processor with a Mali T860 GPU and 2.5 GB of DDR 3 RAM and 16 GB of internal storage and when we compare the performance of the C6 to other Android TV’s currently available in the market it shows that the C6 is just relativelybetter in terms of power and efficiency.
Now overall Google still needs to optimize Android for improving the performance of the TV and may be a better option is to set specific hardware requirements to ensure consistent performance, as they have done with their Android One OS. All in all the TV perfectly suits the concept of day to day user or watching shows and movies on Netflix. Moreover the TV does have a standby mode instilled in to it which means that the Android TV component is always listening when the screen is off which allows faster start ups and quick casting even when the TV is off.
Verdict
Finally all in all the TV is a pretty good option for users, as it provides you with amazing resolution coming along with mesmerizing colors which make the overall experience of the consumer amazing. The 4K Full HD resolution with a composite HDR feature brings amazing picture quality and dynamism in to the device. The image provided by the TV is superb and the sound bar coming along with the TV does a good enough job for the consumer who wants to enjoy a home theatre setup. The TV comes along with some good specifications which will somewhat enhance the experience of the user like the Android Return Channel which can be used for one cable connection for your sound system or the Consumer Electronic Control which can used for a cross-device remote synchronization and the added bonus of the Chromecast Built in to the system of the C6 should more or less meet all of your requirements. Overall we think this is a good option for users and at a price of PKR 119,900 for its 55” variant we think it’s an amazing offer, an offer that you cannot refuse.
