Switch from the iPhone to Google Pixel 2. Anyone using an iPhone might take it to be hard to switch an Android device. But Google’s Pixel 2, alleviates the anxiety of switching by taking care of all the annoying bits, such as copying your photos or contacts. You will need to change some settings before you transfer from one operating system to another, but the whole process is a lot less stressful than importing & exporting data user might have trouble properly identifying or moving (we all hate VCF files).
What’s Needed
To transfer your data from iOS to Android, you will need to get your equipment in an order. Means that the computer that manages your iTunes backups, iPhone, a USB to Lightning cable, and your Pixel 2 equipment as well.
Bundled with the Pixel 2 XL a Quick Switch Adapter, a USB-C to USB-A adapter to let you connect your Pixel 2, with its USB-C port, to an iOS device utilising a traditional USB-A to Lightning cable. You will require that. A SIM card ejector tool is inside the box and it will also be required.
(1) Disable iMessage
Before switching from one phone to other, turn off iMessage to ensure your texts won’t end up in message purgatory, where texts sent by Android users switching from iOS remain undelivered.

Now simply Visit Settings; tap Messages; and toggle off iMessage.
Decrypt the iPhone
The data amount transferred to a Pixel 2 will be affected if you have enabled backup encryption for iOS device. To alleviate this very issue, disable backup encryption by connecting your iOS device to a computer that run iTunes. Now uncheck “Encrypt iPhone Backup” on Summary page, then give iTunes just a few minutes to backup your iPhone without any encryption.
Switch Your SIM & Charge Your Phones
You should switch out SIM of your iPhone after disabling iMessage and decrypting your iPhone so that any complications are avoided. Pixel 2’s included SIM removal tool can be used to pop open your iPhone’s SIM and insert it into your Pixel 2. Now feel free to turn on both of your devices and ensure that both have been charged to at least 50 percent, or else you would not be able to initiate the transfer process. Now, connect your Pixel 2 to your preferred Wi-Fi network. Then follow the on-screen prompts of Pixel 2.
Time to make a Google Account & Select Your Data
Going to switch to Android? you have to create a Google account to store all that transferred data. After creating one (or signing in with your current Google account) you can pick and choose the bits of data you have to transfer, such as photos, messages, calendars, and contacts etc. Or you can just copy it all to say goodbye to your past walled garden.
