Sridevi Kapoor an Indian Bollywood super star who died at age of 54 in February this year, has posthumously won the best national actress award of this year.
India’s coveted National Film Awards awarded the best national award to Sridevi Kapoor for her role in her last movie ‘Mom’. Film Mom is actually a revenge thriller.
Awards were given non Thursday evening by President Ram Nath Kovind in the national capital and film producer of Sridevi Boney Kapoor who is also her husband received this award. Her daughters were also present to receive the award on behalf of Sridevi.
Her widower Bony said after the occasion that Sridevi who died at a hotel in Dubai, would have been very happy for getting at the point of best national actress. He also missed her saying that it is a very proud moment for having an award for late wife.

Sridevi acted as a school teacher in the movie dubbed ‘Mom’. Aside a school teacher, she was acting as a mother bent on avenging the rape of her teenage step daughter by some men, in addition to one of her mates.
Sridevi made her successful debut as child artiste with the 1967 Tamil film Kandan Karunai at the age of only 4.
Apart from Bollywood, she could also star in south Indian movies in in her 50-year career.
She was ranked among the highest-paid actors in the 1980s & 1990s.
Sridevi made every one shocked with the news of her sudden death in a luxury hotel room of Dubai. Some people say that she was stabbed there while some say she was found dead in the bath tub of the room.
Initial reports also claimed her to be died of a heart attack, however according to Dubai Police her death was “due to accidental drowning after loss of consciousness.”
Sridevi is is considered as the Indian cinema’s first female superstar.
