Sony in the process of developing Xperia F 5G

The Samsung Galaxy Fold was all set to release sooner than many now expect  – a direct consequence of display issues which went on to plague review units. The phone is still to get a new release date following the issues. Many figured that the Huawei Mate X would be a direct competitor for the Galaxy Fold, but the Chinese manufacturer’s very own version of a foldable phone too has issues. If you have your eyes set on buying a foldable device from a top manufacturer, then the Sony’s version of the foldable phone just as might be the answer, as the company is now gearing up to reveal the Xperia F – rumors say. Though you might have to wait a little longer to get your hands on the device, as it probably won’t land before next year.

A new report surfaced says that Sony is indeed developing a device called the Xperia F 5G, and there have also been suggestions that the Japanese phone maker has been in contact with Samsung – as it looks to Samsung for providing displays with an aspect ratio of 21:18.

While the name on its own suggests that this device will indeed be a foldable one, the aspect ratio has hidden info. Considering the fact that the latest Sony Xperia 1 has an aspect ratio of 21:9, this may mean that the device with an aspect ratio of 21:18 is similar to having two Xperia 1 phones side by side.

The source has also said that Sony will launch the Xperia F 5G next year, and the phone will make its debut along with the next generation gaming console from the company – the Playstation 5. Such rumors may mean that arriving along the Playstation 5, the Sony Xperia F might have some gaming features of its own.

Sony always takes pride in the fact that its products are designed in a manner to provide entertainment, and so it won’t at all be unusual to see the Xperia F having special ties with the next generation console.
