So Samsung only recently launched there flagship of the year, the S20 and the S20 Ultra view which is probably the sweetest piece of technology one can get their hands on. The new phone came with many innovative features which by all means surprised many of us. One of the highlight feature of the Samsung’s recently released flagship series is the 8K recording feature. As it stands, there are only a few handful smartphones available for purchase which offer the user with this particular feature, which gives Samsung an edge over many other companies and one of the reasons why Samsung left no stone unturned in glorifying this feature as much as they could.
But as it sweet as this feature may sound, there are a few shortcomings of this feature and probably the top of the line would be the amount of memory this feature consumes in shooting the video in the 8K format. We have found out the fact that 8K video recording on the device will consume 600 MB of storage space per minute, which means a mere 5 minutes video will be shot at the cost of a whopping 3GB of data space.

The second issue is more of a constraint. While talking to Verge about the feature, the Korean Tech Giant also said that the recording time is restricted to only 5 minutes. Moreover, users will not be able to record videos at 30 fps and 60 fps. The maximum frames per second provided by the 8K video recording mode are 24 and there is probably no changing that, sounds like a bummer to us.
The shortcomings list just keeps on getting longer as we bring you yet another flaw in the new setup being offered by the Korean giants. In addition to aforementioned issues, 8K video recording mode also lacks video stabilization so even though you will be able to record high-resolution videos, lack of image stabilization might add a a blur or two in your near perfect video. Other than this, there are hardly any options to playback 8K footages in their original resolution as 8K TVs are pretty new in the market so you will also need to have that in your arsenal to get the full experience. Now even though the storage issue can be resolved by investing in the maxed-out Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra which offers you a whopping 512GB of internal storage which can be expanded further to 1TB using microSD cards, other constraints may pose some inconveniences for most power users
