Shell partnership with NUS Enterprise and ImpacTech to launch accelerator programme for startups
Today Energy giant Shell announced a call for applications for its innovative and new corporate accelerator programme #IdeaRefinery, which focused on early-stage energy-related startups with strong society and communal impact.
The will be different workshops by Shell and other industry experts on business strategies, pitching, branding, marketing, and global trends in renewable energy for those startups who will participate in the given programme.
The programme is launched incorporation with NUS Enterprise, which is the entrepreneurial and industrial arm of the National University of Singapore (NUS), and ImpacTech, a business consulting company which offers customised acceleration programme for its customers.
The time period for the programme is 20-weeks, and five Singapore-registered startups will be selected in areas that consist of, solutions about generating energy, dipping the demand for energy, using energy smartly, storing energy, and transporting energy, but are not limited to these categories.
Cleantech ideas can also participate and will be considered, but they should prefer the energy proposal in their startup and their energy implication has to be prominent and dominated.
Another prerequisite for the startups is, they must not have received a more than 1 million US dollars in Series A funding round.
There will be a great opportunity for selected startups to participate and to learn from the experience of Shell and other industry experts, about current business strategies and pitching rules, how to create the brand image and marketing strategies and latest global trends in the field of energy.
The Hangar by NUS Enterprise will also provide the mentorship and resources for participants. The Hangar is an on-campus support built to foster the capabilities of homegrown entrepreneurs.
According to a press statement, the programme’s core curriculum will be a good combination of “the benefits” of conventional development sprint and accelerator programmes.
“It is designed to help startup founders cement their footing in the business arena, hone their leadership, pitching and marketing skills, and inspire them towards expanding their innovative energy solutions,” it said.
If you want to get the opportunity then the last date to apply for this programme is October 15 and so registration will be closed on October 15. The selected startups will be announced at the end of October.
It will culminate in a Demo Day at Shell’s Make the Future Singapore 2018 ideas and innovation festival.
