We have heard about self driving cars and their upcoming potential market but now France based car manufacturer named Renault, has developed a technology that allows self-driving cars to keep away from obstacles in urgent situations with almost same speeds as expert test drivers.
An official person from Renault Group said, the autonomous vehicle power system of these cars has learned these skills by observing professional test drivers.
This novelty and advancement by the company leads to an entire new level of contest where tech giants like Google are already investing to get self-driving vehicles in commercial use.
Renault is a well known name in automobile industry. It is providing cars and electric vehicles in France and central Europe. The company is pursuing an aspiration to develop autonomous cars meeting the needs and wants of mankind today.
Shad Laws from Renault Open Innovation Lab says,
“Despite popular belief, our feeling is that humans are actually pretty amazing drivers. In most developed countries, they can do less than one fatality per 100 million miles. That’s really hard to beat. However, meeting and beating that benchmark is essential to ensure safety and realize the dreams of our autonomous cars.”
If the autonomous car can avoid obstacles effectively then it will be a great feature of any system as most of the companies are working on bringing their own versions of self-driving cars to the current market.
Lots of big names like Tesla, Uber, Lamborghini, Samsung and Google’s Waymo have taken part in the game of manufacturing autonomous vehicle system.
On the other hand, some of the vehicle manufacturers are also been criticized for making fake declarations about developing autonomous cars, whereas some have not seen much accomplishment in their efforts.
No doubt, manufacturing of autonomous vehicle system will get a huge potential market but at the same time there would be some limitations in the concept which will create some hurdles in accomplishment of the plan.
