In a typical day, our smartphone battery will fail us exactly when we need it most. It can happen right before an important client call or when using google maps to navigate the ever-changing roads of the Pakistan. Regardless of when it occurs, we’ve all been in a situation when our device switches off instantly due to poor battery life. It’s irritating and inconvenient, and it seems smartphone manufacturers have only offered portable chargers as a solution. That is, until Huawei stepped in.
Last month in Munich, Germany, Mr. Richard Yu CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group made a grand entrance on-stage in front of 500 media and VIP guests from around the world.
The Mate series is no stranger to long-lasting battery life and low power consumption. In fact, these elements have been a part of the series’ DNA. The Mate 8 was the first smartphone to run the Kirin 950 chipset, with CPU boosting power up 100 percent, GPU performance up 125 percent. Power efficiency improved by up to 70 percentwhen compared to the Kirin 925 featured on the Mate 7 (Ascend). The series put performance and power at the core of the smartphone’s key functions and the Mate 9 is no exception.
The Mate 9 combines a 4000 mAh high-density battery with the more energy efficient Kirin 960 and a new generation of Huawei’s SuperCharge technology. These features work collectively to extend battery life by 20 per cent for gaming and by 40 percent for phone calls. Huawei’s latest flagship device also supports 20 hours of continuous video playback, 30 hours of 3G calling, 20 hours of 4G browsing and up to 105 hours of music playback.
To achieve this level of power in record time, the Mate 9’s SuperCharge technology supports 5A fast charge, a 50 percent improvement over the Mate 8. A full day’s charge can be achieved in 20 minutes and 10 minutes of charge provides enough power to watch two full movies.
Endurance is vital for smartphone users and so too is safety. The Mate 9 ships with industry safety standard-settings including a Super Safe 5-gate protection which offers real-time voltage, current and temperature monitoring. This security net helps eliminate safety hazards and safeguards battery life. These measures also guarantee a cooler-charging temperature even when the phone is being used for videos or graphically intensive games.
In the 21st century, a smartphone is one’s companion for their professional and personal endeavors. Without long lasting power, consumers may turn away from some of the most reputable brands. To alleviate this concern, Huawei has made the Mate 9 available select retail outlets across Pakistan starting at PKR 69,899 in Space Gray, Moonlight Silver, Champagne Gold and Mocha Brown. To the great delight of customers across the country Huawei is also gearing up to reveal this coveted device in an exclusive new color.
