Samsung could be working on a gaming smartphone. Recently a renowned leaker of Samsung specifications has revealed that Samsung is working on a gaming smartphone.
In view of the fact that gaming smartphone industry is booming significantly, a number of manufacturers who are entering to this product line to cash the hype.
A tweet by @MMDDJ_ shows this rumor,
“Samsung is preparing gaming smartphone.”
On the other hand, it could be true as Samsung isn’t willing to let this opportunity go. According to a famous source, Samsung is working on a gaming smartphone. Although, not much has been revealed by the tipster like specifications or specified a release date.
As, it would be gaming phone, hence its structure should meet the following expectation to boast:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset or any next-gen flagship chipset
- 8 GB RAM/6 GB RAM variants
- A Super AMOLED display having a refresh rate of at least 120 Hz
- Display size of 6-inch (+-0.2 inches at the very max)
- Price higher than $600 but less than $850

In this regard, a number of companies have launched gaming smartphones. Top of the list is Razer Phone which was released In November 2017. It is a phone with 8 GB RAM and a Snapdragon 835 chipset along with a pixel refresh rate of 120 Hz.
Then, down the list comes the Xiaomi’s Blackshark, which was released by the Chinese company in April 2018. The gaming phone had a Snapdragon 845 chipset and memory variants of 6/8 GB RAM.
Later on, a statement from Huawei’s Consumer Business President confirmed plans of the company to launch a gaming phone in the last quarter of 2018.
Moreover, the launch of the GPU Turbo feature by Huawei took one step forward as it promises 60% high performance along with battery efficiency increases of up to 30%.
Huawei is taking the gaming smartphone niche pretty serious as the GPU Turbo technology will be available on other models of the company as well.
It is important to mention here that Samsung is going to launch the Note 9 in August while their next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S10 is expected to be launched next year in February.
