In today’s competitive world, marketing plays a crucial role and when it comes to branding every company choose its personal brand ambassador for representing and using the brand in public. Well, it’s not always true in some cases since recently the brand ambassador of Samsung ditched Samsung and used iPhone X publically.
Ksenia Sobchak, the reality TV star and politician was hired by Samsung as brand ambassador in Russia. She was supposed to market and use Samsung’s devices on public platform. But, Sobchak failed to implement the contract for which Samusung sued her for $1.6 million.
According to the rumor mill, Sobchak was using an iPhone X during a television interview; she tried to hide the Apple smartphone under a piece of paper while the cameras were on. Moreover, she was also said to have used the iPhone X during some social events in Moscow and other TV appearances. It was totally against the contract’s rules.
Although it’s quite common for these brand ambassadors to endorse a device in public while not using it in real life. However, the case for Samsung’s brand ambassador in Russia appears to be opposite.
Considering the following events led to Samsung suing Sobchak for a accounted 108 million rubles that is approximately $1.6 million since she has been breached of contract multiple times.

Well, for now it is unknown how much Samsung has originally paid to Sobchak , but it is expected the suit’s claimed damages are far high in value, counting penalties for breaking the agreement.
On the other hand, No comment has been made publically by the representatives of Sobchak or Samsung on the affair.

Well, apart from Sobchak, there are some other tales on the table which shows the ditching side to ambassadors all around the world.
Adam Levine, Maroon 5 singer also caught up in such kind of case. As, in 2014 he promoted the launch of Samsung’s Milk Music service, including the suggestion of holding an “iPhone burning,” however one week later he was caught promoting a TV appearance from an iPhone.
Furthermore, Tennis player David Ferrer made a Tweet to his followers promoting the Galaxy S4 in 2013, but the irony was his message was labeled as “via Twitter for iPhone.”
In 2015, BlackBerry’s PR team sent a tweet promoting the BlackBerry Classic from an iPhone, mirroring a similar mistake made by one-time creative director Alicia Keys in 2013.
In recent times, “Wonder Woman” star Gal Gado took Twitter to endorse the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, but hilariously the tweet again revealed to be sent from an iPhone. However, later tweet was removed and replaced by other marketing messages, with one of the star’s staffers responsible for the mixup.
