Next Exynos SoC Will be Unveiled on January 4, 2018. Samsung will formally introduce its its Exynos SoC on January 4, 2018. The company has made this confirmation through a post on Twitter yesterday.

Twitter post by Samsung reads “The Next Exynos” is going to be unveiled along with the addition that it “goes beyond a component”.

With the date that has been confirmed as January 4, means Samsung will be announcing the new SoC shortly before CES 2018 is scheduled to take place.

The fact that Samsung will unveil its new SoC in early January is not expected to come as much of a surprise as the company had already seemingly outed its next major SoC as the Exynos 9810 during an announcement that came through in November this year.

While highlighting that the Exynos 9810 was one of many  Samsung-branded products that have been scheduled  to be recognized with Innovation awards at 2018 CES show. So, it stood to reason that at the latest CES would be when the latest SoC was announced, if not ahead – which seems now to be the case with the confirmed 4th of January.

As we are concerned with processor most of the details are currently unknown as Samsung has not disclosed further information. Though it has since been confirmed by the company that this SoC will be built on a 10-nanometer (nm) FinFET process, following on from the Exynos 8895 a 10nm chip.

Samsung also confirmed in the previous announcement on the 9810 that it is the company’s flagship processor. So, it will be not be an incorrect assumption to make that this is going to be the processor that powers the Galaxy S9 & S9 Plus when they are announced a little later in the same year.

If not more, at least, the international models as it’s largely expected that in line with the previous few Samsung Galaxy S models the US versions of the Galaxy S9 line of smartphones will come powered by the latest Snapdragon SoC from Qualcomm.

More over, the previous announcement has also confirmed that the 9810 will come with an upgraded GPU and will support gigabit LTE alongwith 6CA.

Another announcement that came through from Samsung in late November looked to confirm that the company had now started mass producing its SoCs built on its 2nd generation 10nm process. And we can assume that this includes the Exynos 9810.
