Samsung is going to do something bigger as it has partnered with ARM to bring “laptop-level” SoC’s to smartphones. Well, to be honest, it would be a huge revolution in smartphone industry.
According to Samsung’s latest press release it has partnership with ARM which is a famous name in the processor industry. The press release states that it has managed to smash the 3 GHz speed mark with its new 7nm chipsets.
Samsung will soon launch these chips, along with 5nm SoCs for its future smartphones. It will be more power efficient, smaller in size, and off course faster than ever.
Well, this 7nm LPP (Low Power Plus) SoCs will enter into production level later this year. On the other hand, Samsung’s upcoming Extreme Ultra Violet (EUV) lithography process will also be prepared and set at the start of the next year, which will permit the production of 5nm processors that will be even faster than the latest 7nm ones.

To some extend it will be more efficient?
The upcoming processors will use 40% less power, as compared to the current A75 10nm CPUs with 2.8 GHz clock speed. Hence, it will be capable to run at 3.0 GHz. These SoCs have been hailed as “laptop-class”, so they are really expected to come with Windows computers as well in the future.
Due to the availability of AI features and machine learning, smart devices have turn out to be more and more demanding. That’s the reason why most developers are looking for better, more powerful SoCs, so they can fit them in the small footprints of most smartphones. Moreover, they are looking for better option powerful SoCs to work along with small batteries of smartphones.
Compatibility Issues
As for the Cortex-A76, it will simply support 64-bit kernel codes. Though, it will also be talented to support 32-bit apps. Hence, there won’t be any compatibility issues and it will be quite easy for Samsung to switch to the most up-to-date SoC, which will be paired with a Mali G76 GPU.
Not to know, Samsung is all set to launch its upcoming S10 flagships. Samsung S10 will come with three variants in next year. The series could be the first in the world to be powered by the new 7nm chips.
