Samsung has updated its tablet line with the 2019 specs and still believes that android tablets have the same reputation and need that they had several years ago. The new devices are powered by the latest Snapdragon 855 chipset with either 6GB/128GB variation or the 8GB/256GB variant. In a surprising yet positive move microSD card support is also present. The tablet gets the best of the display treatment from Samsung with a Super Amoled panel with 2560×1600 resolution. The aspect ratio also gets a weird tweak to 16:10 which is aimed for increasing productivity. In terms of speakers, AKG and DOLBY ATMOS would be making sure you get the best sound out of the device.
Samsung didn’t shy away from adding dual cameras on the back, as if tablet photography should even be a thing. Samsung has been bragging about how the tab is the first tablet with a separate wide angle camera at the back along with a 13MP camera. The front facer is an 8MP for selfies and preferably video calls.

Providing the power behind the scenes is a 7040 MAH battery with no word on the charge times. It is accompanied by 0.35 MAH of charge from the SPEN which has been upgraded for added functionality. It can be used just like the one in the Note 9 with multimedia controls and taking selfies. Additionally, the tab supports Samsung DEX and combinig it with the book cover keyboard, Samsung aims at the tab replacing your laptop, but we know very well how actually far are tablets from providing that level of functionality in order to replace laptops.
Samsung didn’t compromise on security as well by adding an optical fingerprint reader under the display being among the first few to get the tech in tablets.
