Samsung first ever original device manufacturer (ODM) was unveiled by the company in China, in a very recent turn of events. Though the Samsung Galaxy A6s will have the name and branding of the Korean company, and is indeed designed by it, the phone will not be manufactured by the company itself. The manufacturing process will be carried out in factories owned by a Chinese company –this being potentially Wintech – which is the ODM for Xiaomi phones.
With accordance to the latest reports, the phone will start at around $260. Such a price tag will place the phone at the lower end of the mid-range market, however, with the specs in mind, you wouldn’t really imagine it to be placed at the lower end. Coming in with 6 gigs of RAM, 64 gigs of internal storage, dual rear cameras, a fingerprint scanner on the rear end, a 3300mAh battery, a Snapdragon 660 processor, and a super AMOLED Full HD+ infinity display, Samsung has ensured that specs of the phone are not compromised – with the price tag in mind.
And if the specs haven’t impressed you enough, just take into consideration the fact that Samsung will take advantage of the current trend of gradient designs, with the phone being available in four different colors.

Coming alongside the A6s, Samsung also happened to unveil the A9s. However, while there was a certain degree of excitement attached with the release of this phone, it seems that it’ll just be a rebranded version of the Galaxy A9, a phone which the company had revealed just earlier this month. The phone is without doubt more premium in comparison to the A6s, with the main selling point of it being that it is actually the first phone to have the inclusion of four rear-cameras.
Both the devices which have been unveiled by the Korean company seem part of a strategy to recapture some of the very lucrative market that China possesses. The labor costs in China aren’t actually that expensive, so it would actually make sense for the Korean company to have the phone manufactured in China itself, wouldn’t it?
The galaxy A9 will be released in a selected number of markets staring from November, however, whether or not the Galaxy A6s will be released in markets outside China – we do not know. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
