So, it’s finally here! Although it’s been here before but this time when Samsung does it, it turns more eyes than the previous ones, that’s for sure. The Galaxy Fold is here! And what an entrance it has made!
Samsung’s flagship smartphone, the s10 had been leaking for a longer time then we can remember, and it was just a matter of personally experiencing the device, getting a hands-on if you will, to interpret how slick and magnificent it was going to be. However, there was another expected guest to the party and even though everyone knew who it was, nobody was sure what it was going to wear. Along side the S10 series of smartphone, Samsung also debuted the Galaxy Fold, now the question is whether to call it a smartphone or a tablet, we’ll leave that for you guys to decide but for now let’s dive in to this incredible innovation in the industry, which is definitely going to be the next big thing!
Samsung’s Unpacked event in San Francisco revealed what is to be a monster of a phone and a tablet. Viewers caught a glimpse of the device through the Samsung conference, however, there haven’t been any hands-on experiences just yet. During the event, Samsung bragged about the AMOLED display that its deservedly famous for and a sophisticated hinge system to connect the panes together and a link up to two battery cells. With what the crowd witnessed, it sure looked like Samsung was very much committed to the idea of a foldable device and not just an experiment, and the spec sheet defends that assumption.

Software-wise, the Fold would be running Android Pie skinned by Samsung’s recent One UI, with the aim making applications more accessible with special emphasis towards one hand usability. One feature that Samsung specifically pointed out was the ability to multi-task using 3 apps at the same time and also promises continuity of apps when folding from the smaller screen to the larger one, and vice versa.
