Till now, two major players of the industry Samsung and Huawei have appeared as the main contestants working on the production of foldable smartphones. According to blog “The Investor”, Korean tech giant Samsung has revealed more details on this project by saying that it has set aside a team of 200 workers borrowed from different research and business divisions of the company. In order to get better and fast result, the team will mutually work to speed up the mass-production of foldable panels.
Furthermore, the task to lead the foldable panels production has been given to vice president of the OLED business division. Samsung wants faster result since the company’s aim is to become the world’s first foldable phone manufacturer. However, they also realize that quality and durability of the phone is equally important, hence it will take some time.

“We don’t want to lose the world’s first title when it comes to a foldable phone,” Dr. Kinam Kim said. “Thus far we were cautious about commenting on the new phone launch largely due to quality and durability issues but now the issues have been resolved and we are nearing the final stages.”He added.
This statement indicates that Samsung is not in a hurry to go into the production and it wants to determine any concerns which might happen in thein the process of mass adoption of the smartphone before handing over to the consumers.
On the other hand,Huawei is also in the race of manufacturing foldable OLED panels and working quickly for the mass production. In this regard, the company has procured BOE technologies which is a well know Chinese firm that manufactures display for the task.
