The MWC 2019 was an event which was seemingly dominated by foldable phones, as both Samsung and Huawei made their way to the event in order to showcase what the future looked like. While the Huawei Mate X and the Samsung Galaxy Fold were the only two foldable devices which were present at the event, the technology that they brought along with ensured that people would long speculate and talk about the devices. After the MWC took place, Samsung geared up for the launch of the Fold, however, there had been some technical challenges along the way that forced Samsung to postpone the release. Now though, there are rumors around the smartphone world that the Korean manufacturer has plans to release a second foldable phone – one which seemingly has a design resembling the Mate X.
Recent reports have also indicated that the company is currently working on multiple future models. The suggestions coming over with regards to the foldable models say that Samsung could actually launch foldable models within the next couple of months.

The report from Korea’s The Investor says that it may well be soon that Samsung launches an entire range of foldable phones; one of which will fold outwards like the Huawei Mate X. And while there is little to no information present over Samsung’s alleged out-folding device, there are suggestions that it could reach consumers before the Mate X itself.
While the Galaxy Fold is without doubt impressive, it is Huawei’s version of the foldable device that has caught the eye of most – a direct consequence of the outward folding design which translated into a tablet size screen when unfolded. This obviously is quite different when put in comparison with the Galaxy Fold, which features with an outward smaller display and an inner foldable display panel. It is expected that the Mate X will be released in September, so we will indeed find out soon enough whether Samsung really is really serious about a new foldable phone before then.
