If you are a Pakistani, there is no way you would have protected yourself from the random messages from strangers selling you stuff or other completely useless stuff. Spammers emails was one thing, spam messages has gotten out of hand with the notifications coming directly to your smartphone making peace all the more difficult a luxury. However, we finally would have a way to get rid of the spammers. PTA has been aware of the spamming problem for a long time now and it has finally decided to act upon it!
PTA has announced the facility to report and block unsolicited, marketing and spamming calls and messages by typing the spammers mobile phone number along with the message sent by the spammer and send it to 9000. This would put in motion a review by the PTA of the alleged spam message and the number would then be blocked from your device.

Many among you would be thinking of why would you need it if we can block the numbers from our phones, well if you can, that’s great for you, because you are getting rid of a huge annoyance.
Messages from telemarketers can also be dealt with by sending Reg to 3627 as it adds you to the list of DNCR or Do not Call Register List. This would make sure that you don’t receive messages from random telemarketing campaigns and can have a spam free messaging app.
Even after all these measures you are still receiving such messages then go ahead and contact the PTA’s zonal office or contact your service provider. Calling from your PTCL ON 0800-55055 would be free and you can register a complain, and for those social anxiety freaks, you can complain using the email complaint@pta.gov.pk.
