The Redmi K30i which will serve as a Lite variant for the previously released Redmi K30 5G has been within the ranks of speculation for quite some time now. The phone made a very recent appearance on TENAA – which went on to confirm many of the specs that it may feature with. And now, a finding from MIUI camera further proceeds on to affirm the existence of this particular smartphone.
Earlier in May, an internal document leak revealed Xiaomi’s plan to launch more affordable 5G devices than that on offer with respect to the Redmi K30 5G. The very first device that was seen to be within this particular document was indeed the Redmi K30i 5G, featuring with a 48MP primary camera instead of the standard 64MP that happens to integrated within the standard version of the device. It is also claimed that the phone would actually be released in late April – this though hasn’t materialized.

Now though, the phone has been spotted on MIUI camera app. Courtesy of a string, not only has the name of the device been confirmed as indeed being the Redmi K30i, but it has also in fact been confirmed that the phone will in fact features with a 48MP primary camera!
The string actually sees the device being codenamed as ‘Picasso’ just like the case being with the regular Redmi K30 5G which was announced back in December of last year. And so, this finding yet again confirms that the new K30i will indeed feature with identical specs as well as an identical design – except for the fact that there will be a different primary camera sensor on show.
In any case though, we still await any sort of news from Redmi itself as it is already May now. Considering the fact that it’s pretty much the same phone with just a minor change, you shouldn’t be surprised to see the phone being announced soon.
