Redmi, a company backed by Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi, is gearing up for the launch of its first ever flagship smartphone – the Redmi K20. The launch for the phone is set to take place on the 28th of May, and ahead of the launch, Redmi has started the process of teasing various features for this upcoming smartphone.
The Vice President of Xiaomi group, Mr. Lu Weibing, has now also announced that the upcoming flagship phone will retain the headphone jack. The VP revealed the news via a post on Weibo.
He claimed that the company made the decision of retaining the 3.5mm audio jack as enthusiasts like it. Featuring with Redmi’s self-developed Mi sound Amp sound effects, there comes an assurance of high-quality sound output. It has also passed the Hi-Res certification process.
More recently, the K20’s render was shared by the company, and this went on to confirm that the device will feature with a triple camera setup arranged vertically – right in the middle of the phone. The first of the three cameras feature separately from the other two which are present on the device, and it also has a gold ring around it. And as far as the other two cameras go, they are together in a black housing.

Last week, Redmi shared a picture of an official case for the phone, which confirmed that it would indeed feature with the 48MP Sony IMX586 camera sensor which also comes with the support for 960fps super-slow-motion video recording.
With the reports summarized, the Redmi K20 will feature with an AMOLED display, a pop up selfie camera, a 7th Gen In-display fingerprint scanner, and a 4000mAh battery to keep the lights running. The phone is also reported to possess the luxury of 18W fast charging.
The Redmi K20 Pro too is expected to be launched in China by Redmi, presenting another option to those who fancy a high quality flagship smartphone in a reasonable enough price. The K20 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 855. Both the K20 and the K20 Pro will run on the Pie based MIUI 10 custom user interface right on top of it.
