Realme is quickly gaining popularity amongst the competition there exists in the budget smartphone market, and all of the success that the company has gained comes in a rather short period time.Even though the company has indeed been successful, it has managed to launch only five smartphones in the Indian market till now, along with a couple of accessories and lifestyle products.
The initial start of the company came as being the subsidiary of Oppo, however, it soon split from its parent company in order to become an independent company, and now happens to be headed by Sky Li – who was the former VP of Oppo. While the company has indeed gained independence from its parent company, it still goes on to use Oppo’s user interface – ColorOS, for its smartphones.

However, now, a new report has gone on to suggest that the company might ditch the ColorOS, and instead, the company might start to offer its own custom OS – the RealmeOS, which happens to be based on Android. The company has even gone as far as filing a trademark application with the United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office for “RealmeOS.”
What the trademark description goes on to suggest is that the RealmeOS could indeed be used for the OS programs, software to maintain, as well as to operate computer systems, and downloadable apps for mobile devices, amongst other things. It is true that the future Realme phones might come with the RealmeOS, however, highly unlikely is the situation where it might be available in a couple weeks time.
Realme is also working on its very own app store, as an alternative to the Google Play Store, and it goes without saying that this would give users a bit more of a range to choose from. However, nothing is concrete right now, so it’s not really a certainty that we’ll see the app store – especially anytime soon.
Realme to opt reportedly opt for the Realme OS Instead of the ColorOS
Realme also releaseda new variant of the Realme C1, an entry-level smartphone in India, and this phone comes as the RealmeC1 2019, coming with 32 gigs of internal storage. The company is also looking forward to launch its next mid-ranger – the Realme 3, and it is expected that the phone will launch by March of this year.
