Qiddiya will make Riyadh one of the top 100 cities of the world to live in. Let us talk about Qiddiya, hopefully the world’s largest entertainment city by 2030, having a total area of 334 square kilometers, surpassing Walt Disney World in Florida, which is only 110 square km.
This city is one of three Saudi giga-projects, on top of Neom and the Red Sea project, launched by Crown Prince and Chairman of the Public Investment Fund, Mohammed bin Salman. Part of the Saudi Arabia’s vision 2030, this project targets local and regional as well as international tourists.
Goal of Saudi Arabia vision 2030 is to develop the entertainment sector by creating high quality domestic & international investments within the Kingdom, projects of this vision will have a huge positive impact on the country’s economy and quality of life.
Qiddiya will be the kingdom’s pre-eminent entertainment, sports and cultural destination embodying the Saudi identity. The city is 40 kilometers away from the center of Riyadh city, bearing the name of the area, Qiddiya has spectacular views of mountains, valleys & desert views.
In terms of population, the presence of this tourist destination near the largest Saudi city will allow it to target eight million visitors from around Riyadh in addition to about 45 million visitors from the Arabian Gulf region.

Alongside the theme parks, the project includes entertainment centers; sports amenities capable of hosting international competitions; training academies; water- and snow-based recreation; desert and asphalt tracks for motorsport enthusiasts; outdoor and adventure activities and nature and safari experiences; as well as an array of historical, cultural and educational activities & events.
National income source will be diversified with Qiddiya, because it is forecast to contribute to up to SR17 billion of GDP by 2030.
Estate development of the area, offering 4,000 residential units by 2025 & 11,000 by 2030 are also contributions of this project.
The project aims to attract residents in want of second homes at Qiddiya for weekends and vacations.
Qiddiya project will give people opportunities to explore and experience without the need to move to other countries.
Expectations are that by 2030, the number of annual visitors to Qiddiya will reach 17 million in the entertainment sector, 12 million in the shopping sector and 2 million in the hospitality sector.
The project aims at improved quality of Saudi Arabia’s local life through entertainment, proviso of around 57,000 jobs for citizens & opening of new opportunities for the private sector in various industries.
The project will serve the Kingdom’s goal of elevating Riyadh to become one of the top 100 cities of the world to live in.
