The Pink Club, an exclusive club for women at PTCL, arranged a demonstration session on Self Defense by the Shotokan Karate Schools Pakistan. Instructor Qasim Suleman, along with his female team, taught the audience several pertinent techniques and encouraged all women to gain the strength and confidence necessary for them to walk without fear on their own every day.
The session was followed by an insightful talk by Mrs. Maria Ritz, wife of PTCL’s President & CEO Dr. Daniel Ritz. Mrs. Maria Ritz shared an endearing account of her childhood, academic life, professional experiences and her life as an expat in Pakistan. She talked about her love for Khaadi, spicy kebabs, scenic road travels from Skardu and her day to day interaction with the local people. Our working mothers had a great boost as she sketched a parallel life for women working in her hometown and assured them that with family support at hand, women in Pakistan, can better manage their home, children and work for a living at the same time.
