The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) have are in the midst of deciding whether or not to ban one of the most famous and used multiplayer game on mobile, PUBG from Pakistan in accordance with the orders of the Lahore High Court (LHC).
It has been reported that the Lahore High Court (LHC) received a petition on Monday from a citizen namely, Faizan Maqsood, who has demanded that a ban be placed on PUBG forthe negative impact it is having on the children. In addition, the petition mentioned that the game has aderegutory effect on the children’s personality and has deemed the game to “promote violence”.

The petition also mentioned that the game is also adversely affecting the decision-making ability of children and therefore,it has been requested to the LHC to remove the game from the Google Play Store. After seeing the developments in the petition, the LHC have ordered PTA to make the decision within six weeks, on whether or not the game should be banned and removed or whether it should stay. So far, there is no word on whether the decision will also affect PUBG on PC and consoles.
It is worth noting here that Pakistan will not be the first country to ban PUBG because of its violent nature. Jordan banned PUBG for its possible perverse affect on its citizens back in July, 2019. After the move was taken by Jordan,Iraq and Nepal soon followed as well making the game unavailable in there respective countries as well.China has also removed the game from its country but replaced it with a patriotic and less violent version called Game for Peace. The game is quite identical to that of PUBG but in turn censors all the violence in the game.
