In order to grab the attention of customers AMD not just revealed new 9th-gen processors but surprisingly the prices are really down too as the company has chopped the price of Ryzen 72700X to just $294.99 from asking price at Amazon over in the US.
The recent move by AMD shows that the company is trying to steal customers from Intel.
It is important to mention here that direct competitor of Ryzen 7 is Intel’s incoming Core i9-9900K and it is also an eight-core processor with very similar specs on paper. Although, with a bit faster boost speed in stock configuration. However, it has a recommended price of $488 (around £370), which is higher than Ryzen.
In comparison to Intel’s Core i9, the Ryzen 7 2700X looked fairly great at $329, and now the company has offered more discount over 10%.
In a nut shell, it gives the impression that Intel chip is very costly like it’s around two-thirds more expensive. Furthermore, it looks higher when you keep in mind that AMD’s effort also comes packed with a premium Wraith cooler.

What to choose?
So, if you fancy a good deal eight-core (16-thread) chip, AMD’s 2700X is surely a very tempting option right now.
However, in UK and Pakistan the Amazon price hasn’t been similarly chopped by 10%, though you can buy the 2700X for £289.99, which is cheaper than the recommended price (which other outlets seem to be sticking to in the main). Well, still it represents a grand value overall for such a powerful chip.
All we can do is hope that, when Black Friday rolls around, there will be more deals for all kinds of hardware including processors. And we might just spot even lower discounted prices in the UK, US and Pakistan.
Not to know, the Ryzen 7 2700X have all great specs, scooping a ‘best in class’ award for its striking improvements on the performance front. So, right now it’s a good option at cheaper price.
