Pie released for the Nokia 8

Nokia failed on its promise as the company failed to bring about the Android Pie update back in November, and this was as a result of some unresolved issues that the company faced. However, now, HMD Global has finally released the stable version of the software for the Nokia 8. The news came as a result of Juho Sarvikas, who is the Chief Product officer at HMD Global.

While the other Android Pie announcements made for its other phone, the Nokia 8 does not actually get an elaborate announcement, and since the update is a phased rollout, it might as well be the case that you devices won’t actually get the update as immediately as you’d like.

Stuff like adaptive battery, a whole new navigation system, and adaptive brightness will all be the features that Google’s latest software brings along with it. The Beta update came bundled with the December security patch, so it’s quite expected that this version also has the inclusion of the security patch.

The Nokia 8 was released last year in 2017, and the phone was called out as HMD’s flagship phone for that year. The phone comes with a 5.3 inch screen, along with a display resolution of 1440 x 2560 covered within Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood, we have the Snapdragon 835 processor, along with 4 or 6 gigs of RAM, depending upon which variant you have your hand on. The storage options ranged from either 64 gigs, or 128 gigs. There also is the presence of the MicroSD slot, which would allow up to 512 gigs of extra storage.

The phone packs dual 13MP cameras with Zeiss optics on its back in a Monochrome along with RGB configuration. The phone also has a 13MP front facing camera, just so you could have the perfect selfies. The front also sees itself with the integration of a fingerprint scanner, along with an audio jack, a Type-C port, which happens to charge a 3090mAh at 18W.
