WhatsApp is one of the most famous apps in the world, and is certainly amongst the best platforms to chat on, if not the best. This credibility of WhatsApp is evident by the fact that a company as huge as Apple followed some of the features which were present on WhatsApp, to the iMessage, which features in the latest iOS 10. However, even with all these great features, WhatsApp is not content, as it wants to do even more, evident from the new feature that the app has just introduced.
So, what exactly is the new feature? The feature is basically a picture-in-picture mode, which can be used during your video calls. So, you are probably wondering what this means. Well, this means that you may continue to video chat in a minimized screen, while you are browsing through the rest of your conversation. It’s not exactly a revolutionary feature, however, it still might be considered very useful, right? However, the not so great news is the fact that the feature, for now is only available in the beta version of the app, and only for the selected few, using Android O Dev Preview. In the basic of terms, there are only a limited amount of people who can use this feature, for now.
The reason for the Android O Dev Preview exclusivity is that the feature is made possible thanks to a new API included in Android O, which unfortunately means that the vast majority of us won’t be able to see or use this feature for quite some time. Once Android O becomes an official release, then this feature will make its way out of the beta version, and will make its way to the consumer-ready version of WhatsApp.
