So cricket fans in Pakistan will be happy to know that, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh in the second T20I which was held at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. The Pakistani side were able to clinch a very comfortable win against the Bengals as they won by nine wickets on Saturday. This win in turn gave them their first series win since we bid farewell to 2018 and it was a very important one too, since Pakistan’s number one spot was on the line.
Bangladesh felt the pressure early on but managed to get together a pretty decent total of 137 given the good bowling from the Pakistanis. In return, the Pakistan’s run-chase suffered an early blow as the opener Ahsan Ali, frustrated by his inability to get off the mark on six attempts, tried an ugly shot in the second over and was caught which lead to the former skipper, Mohammad Hafeez to come in at number 3. Together with the captain Babar Azam, both batsmen made sure that there be no further setbacks and hence gradually got control of the game.

The duo brought up their 50-stand by the 9th over and by the end of the 10th, Pakistan had a total score of 68 and looked in control and were marching towards the series win, demanding the Bangladeshi to come up with a hail Mary. Moving on, Bangladesh almost found no rhythm to their bowling, they bowled bad lines and on top of that they dropped catches and also conceded unnecessary far more frequently than they would have imagined.
Babar and Hafeez took full advantage of the situation and hence they were able to complete their half centuries and got their team home comfortably with 20 balls to spare and nine wickets in hand. The skipper finished with a 44-ball 66 whereas his veteran partner contributed 67 runs off 49 deliveries. The man of the match award was received by the captain, Babar who deserved it of course but some debate that Hafeez was more deserving, nonetheless a healthy debate.
